             SMU Newsletter: 5th Edition 2019

SMU and Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital medical professionals gathered at Skills Centre to learn and share experiences during the Tracheostomy Continuing Professional Development workshop. A tracheostomy is a surgical procedure which consists of making an incision on the anterior aspect of the neck and opening a direct airway through an incision in the trachea or windpipe, in order to place a tube into a person’s windpipe.
