If you are in need of tertiary funding for the 2024 academic year, a bursary is the perfect way to fund your studies. Most bursaries are applicable to students who can prove they are in financial need, have a good academic record and are hard working.
SA Bursaries, South Africa’s largest bursary website, has compiled a list of bursaries for you – these bursaries are currently open for application and will be closing within the month of February 2024.

Gibela Bursary 2024
Gibela is now accepting applications for its bursary program for the upcoming academic year. They will provide bursaries for studies at universities, universities of technology, and TVET colleges.

Honours Bursary Opportunity for Final Year Science Students : The Tomorrow Trust - Closed
Tomorrow Trust is offering bursaries to students who will start their 1 – year honours degree in 2024. The comprehensive bursary will cover tuition, textbooks, accommodation, stipends, monthly workshops, and more.
All applicants need to be between the age of 18 – 35 and must be South African citizens. Applicants must have at least 60% or above for mathematics in matric and received at least 60% or above for their undergraduate degree.

Investec Bursary 2024 - Closed
Abe Bailey Trust Overseas Travel Bursary - Closed
The applications are now open for the 2023 Abe Bailey Overseas Travel Bursary. This prestigious Travel Bursary focuses on leadership development and nation building, while exposing students and/or junior academic staff to different cultures in the United Kingdom.
To determine if you are eligible, please see below:
- You must be 25 years of age or younger;
- You must be a senior student (third-year and up);
- Be able to demonstrate all-round leadership qualities (proven);
- Be a South African citizen and have a South African passport;
- Have a proven record of community participation/involvement; and a
- Strong academic track record.
