Abstracts must not be submitted if the work has been previously published or presented at another meeting prior to the start of this meeting.

Title: Limit to 10 words. The title should reflect the content of the abstract.

Authors: Surname and initials. Mark the presenter with an asterisk. The affiliation should follow each author.

Abstract: Limit abstract to 300 words. Use the template provided and make sure that the following headings appear in the abstract: Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion.

PLEASE NOTE that Oral Presentations must be pre-recorded and submitted by the 3rd of November 2020 to be uploaded and set up for the 12th November.  Please follow the instructions as to how  to record and submit your presentation below.


  • Abstract presenters have six (6) minutes for presentation. It is advisable to rehearse your presentation prior to the recording to ascertain that the time is not exceeded.

  • All presenters are required to include a slide listing any conflict of interest disclosures. Financial disclosure includes any commercial funding you receive from a company whose product(s) you are discussing. (Read the IADR/AADR Policy on Full Disclosure).  If there are no conflicts of interest to report, please indicate on the slide.

  • Presenters should mention the sponsors of their research, if applicable, in their presentation.

  • The presentations should cover the same material as reported in the abstract.

  • You must be knowledgeable in your subject and answer questions directed at you after your presentation via WhatsApp (please provide your WhatsApp mobile number)

  • Give an opening statement to acquaint the audience with the nature and purpose of the study.

  • Briefly describe procedures and materials. Define all trade names first, then use generic names throughout. All compounds and drugs must be identified.

  • Allocate most of the presentation time to the results of the study. State the results simply and clearly so that significant facts can be readily identified.

  • Conclude the presentation with a brief summary of the essential results you believe were demonstrated by the experimental data.

Poster presentations will be uploaded onto the IADR/SMU website for viewing during the two days.  Please follow the link provided on the website to view the posters once they are active.

The presentation must cover the same material as the abstract submitted. Use the following instructions

All posters must be in Portrait format.

The poster must be submitted as a PDF at least 5 days before the event.

Power point posters must be converted to PDF before submission.

Presentation number of the abstract, title and author(s) must be included on the poster.

It is helpful if the sequence to be followed is indicated by number, letter, or arrows.

Attach a small photograph of yourself to the poster so other participants can recognize you as the presenter.

If applicable, presenters should mention the sponsors of their research in their presentation.


  • Your poster should be a one (1) page document only.
  • All e-posters should be prepared in English.
  • Layout: Portrait (vertical orientation)

  • Poster Size:
    • Pixels: Minimum recommended size (format W x H) is 1125 x 2000px and maximum is 2250 x 4000px.
    • In cm: 19.05cm width and 33.87cm height
    • Format: 9:16
    • DPI 300 pixels/inch
    • File Size: Maximum file size is 4 Megabytes (4MB).

  • File Format: Save your file as a PDF for quick and easy upload.

  • Media: Images/photos, graphs and tables can be included in the e-poster.
  • All images must be good quality as pixilation will negatively affect your poster quality and the viewer’s experience. Delegates will be viewing your posters on their personal laptops or PC’s.

  • Limitations: As the poster is treated as a single poster presentation you should not have additional slides – only one. The file size should not exceed 16 Megabytes.

  • Font type: Please use Times New Roman or Arial.

  • Font size: The font size should be 14pt or bigger.

  • Images and tables: You are welcome to use images and tables in your presentation · All graphs and tables must be embedded in your file and have titles ·Avoid animated GIF files and be careful to respect copyright and personal anonymity with your images or photos · Do not insert or embed any videos in your presentation
  • Please do not include audio (special effects) in your presentation

  • Do not include hyperlinks

All presentations MUST be submitted by the following dates in order to be included:

Oral Presentation Deadline          :              Tuesday, 03 November, 2020

Poster Presentation Deadline      :              Friday, 06 November, 2020
