2020 IADR Competitions to be held at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University on the 12th and 13th November 2020

Submission categories are:
  • Undergraduate
  • Postgraduate
  • Community-based


  • Abstracts must not be submitted if the work has been previously published or presented at another meeting prior to the start of this meeting.
  • Title: Limit to 10 words. The title should reflect the content of the abstract.
  • Authors: Surname and initials. Mark the presenter with an asterisk. The affiliation should follow each author.
  • Abstract: Limit abstract to 300 words. Use the template provided and make sure that the following headings appear in the abstract: Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion.



In your application, the following statement must be signed:

“I affirm that any work with human or animal subjects reported in this abstract complies with the guiding principles for experimental procedures found in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical association, and this research project has been duly cleared by my Institutional Review Board (IRB) or institutional ethics committee or an equivalent ethical body”.

Abstract may be rejected if:

  • Abstract is poorly organised
  • Required information is not given
  • Nature of problem is not explicit
  • Abstract does not reflect original research
  • Choice of controls is questionable or no control groups are reported
  • Methods to obtain data are not appropriate
  • Conclusions do not necessarily follow as a consequence of the method of analysis
