The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University will continue with its plan to build a new residence facility of 2000 beds for its students.

The commencement of the project and the announcement follows the approval of the consent use application made by the university.

“With our consent use (‘rezoning’) application now approved, we are happy to break ground on our new 2000 bed student residence facility, today, 05 August 2021.

We further committed that the university will continue with its maintenance and upgrade of facilities and accelerate the pace of enhancing the quality of its academic programmes in an effort to support the university’s teaching, research, community engagement and service missions”, said SMU spokesperson Dr Eric Pule.
