ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for Mr. & Miss SMU 2026:
Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years or older and under 32 years of age as of 31 March 2026. Applicants may turn 32 during their year of reign.
Student Status: Applicants must be registered students of Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU).
Marital and Parental Status: Applicants must be single and have no children.
Physical Requirements: There are no restrictions regarding height, weight, tattoos, or piercings.
Character and Conduct: Applicants must have no criminal record and must demonstrate integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct throughout the application process, the competition, and during the reign should they be selected.
Reputation and Values: Applicants must not have been involved in any conduct that could bring the University into disrepute. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, sexism, bribery, slander, libel, or any other unethical behavior, as determined by the organizers.
Accuracy of Information: Any false or misleading information submitted may result in immediate disqualification or, if already crowned, termination of the title and reign at the organizers’ discretion.
SELECTION PROCESS AND COMMITMENT
Applicants who advance to the interview stage must be available for judging from mid-June 2026. Further details will be communicated by the organizers.
Finalists selected as Mr. or Miss SMU 2026 must be available for official activities and engagements from June 2026 to mid-July 2026, as scheduled by the organizers.
The winners will be contracted as Brand Ambassadors of the Mr. & Miss SMU Organization for the full duration of their reign, representing the University with dignity, excellence, and responsibility.
