ALLEGED FRAUD AND CORRUPTION: STUDENT PLACES AT MEDICAL SCHOOLS

The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) is following-up on the observations from the UKZN investigation in the above regard, also implicating certain individuals associated with the SMU.

 

The Interim Vice-Chancellor commissioned an investigation and the University will provide further information, as appropriate, with due observation of the sensitivity of the matter.

 

The SMU is committed to a policy and value framework of zero tolerance of fraud and corruption and will, depending on the outcome of the investigation, take appropriate action against individuals contravening the Codes of Conduct of the SMU and will cooperate fully with the state agencies involved in the investigation of alleged syndicate activities.
