The SASCAR Next Generation Cardiovascular Research Virtual Symposium is a dynamic platform dedicated to sharing, learning, networking, and fostering collaboration among emerging and established cardiovascular researchers. This virtual event brings together students, academics and scientists to showcase innovative research and engage in meaningful scientific exchange within the field of cardiovascular research. Hosted through a collaborative partnership between Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) and North-West University (NWU), the symposium reflects a shared commitment to developing the next generation of cardiovascular researchers in South Africa. It provides an inclusive space for postgraduate students and post-doctoral fellows to present their work. Aligned with the theme, “Building the Next Generation of Cardiovascular Researchers in South Africa,” the symposium aims to highlight emerging talent, promote interdisciplinary engagement, and strengthen research capacity within the cardiovascular field. Through oral and poster presentations, interactive discussions, and mentorship opportunities, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to advancing cardiovascular science in both local and global contexts.
