OPERATIVE DENTISTRY

The Department of Operative Dentistry trains and educates students in Pre-clinical and Clinical Direct Restorative Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Endodontics and Restorative Materials for Direct Procedures at under- and postgraduate levels.

In addition to in-house material testing, the Department collaborates with other institutions to conduct research using the Instron material testing machine.  The Department also has access, through the Dental Operating Microscope Unit, the state-of-the-art image analysis system coupled with quantitative analysis for characterizing dental hard tissues and dental materials.
