Professor Zach Koto is now a NRF rated Researcher

Internationally acclaimed surgeon from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU), Professor Zach Koto, has received recognition as a National Research Foundation (NRF) rated Researcher. Prof Koto now holds a C3 rating from the NRF following rigorous national and international reviews.

Under the leadership of Prof Koto, the SMU Surgery Department recorded noticeable achievements such as being the first in the country to make use of the Hot Axios Stent Technique (HAST) to relieve a patient suffering from jaundice, due to an obstruction in their bile duct.
