SMU represented at the United Nations Public Service Day

The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University is elated to pronounce that its Executive Director for Human Resources Ms Odette Ramsingh will serve as a moderator during the Public Service Day to be hosted by the United Nations (UN) on 23 June 2020.

This virtual event will bring together various public servants as well as leaders across the world to honour those men and women who continue to serve even during this difficult period of Covid-19, risking their own lives in the process.

The discussions will also zoom into the numerous and diverse approaches taken by different countries during this period of Covid-19. Looking into these approaches will help Nations to come up with better ways to deal with similar challenges in future.

Participants and speakers during this event will include eminent persons such as the Secretary General of the UN Mr. Antonio Guterres, the Director General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and the President of Ethiopia among others.

Ms Ramsingh herself is an illustrious public servant, well respected with immaculate academic and professional achievements under her name. She previously served as the Director General for the Public Service Commission.

SMU wishes her well as she prepares to execute this enormous responsibility.
