Pharmaceutical Sciences

Welcome to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy. The department is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate activities within the School of Pharmacy. The department boasts subject matter experts that coordinate and present modules in the undergraduate program, encompassing a wide array of topics such as chemistry, biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical principles of manufacturing sterile and non-sterile medicinal products, to mention a few. The department plays a significant role to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to deliver the comprehensive pharmaceutical care.

Faculty in the department lead multidisciplinary research within a diverse array of scientific disciplines ranging from medicinal chemistry, phytochemistry, radiopharmacy, pharmaceutics and cosmetics to promote research in drug discovery, design and delivery of therapeutic agents. The goals of research are achieved through inter- and intra-departmental collaborations as well as collaboration with national and international institutions. The department actively contributes to address the community needs through engaged scholarship.
